How to clean contact lenses properly - here's how it works

Wash your hands
Wash your hands more often before inserting or removing your contact lenses.

To avoid damaging the contact lens and your cornea, I recommend putting eye drops or saline solution into your eye immediately before removing the contact lens.

Take out your contact lens and place it in the palm of your hand.

Now sprinkle them with the appropriate care product and gently rub them in a circular motion with your finger.
Store
Rinse the contact lens and store it in fresh solution in your contact lens case. The solution in your case must be completely changed after each use – otherwise, invisible microorganisms will accumulate and be fed.
Not to forget
Only use care products that are specifically manufactured for your type of contact lens.

Always dispose of your contact lenses in the regular trash and never down the drain! These high-quality materials decompose into microplastics and remain in our system indefinitely.
Finding the right care product
All-in-one solution & combination solution
Combination solutions and all-in-one solutions are the same and have the advantage that they can be used for both storing and rinsing contact lenses. The lenses can be inserted immediately afterward – without waiting time or unpleasant burning. Combination solutions are available for soft and rigid contact lenses.
Due to the mild properties of these solutions, the cleaning of deposits and microorganisms is not as intensive as with peroxide. Wearing comfort is often perceived as better due to their additives, such as hyaluronic acid.
Peroxide
Peroxide cleans very effectively and can be used for soft and hard contact lenses.
The peroxide must be neutralized to prepare the contact lenses for insertion - this requires a little waiting time (between 1 and 6 hours, depending on the system).
Neutralization is achieved using a catalyst or tablets - only very rarely using a second liquid.
Storage & Cleaners
Storage solutions are specifically designed for the safe storage of rigid contact lenses. Cleaners, on the other hand, are only for thorough cleaning and the removal of deposits. Because they are two separate liquids, they offer targeted care, but often contain preservatives and sometimes abrasive cleaning particles that, with frequent use, can affect the surface and geometry of the lenses.
Special cleaner
Specialty cleaners include chlorine-based intensive cleaners (for hard contact lenses), enzyme tablets for more effective removal of protein deposits, and alcohol-based surface cleaners.
